Swollen Lips

I ran across this picture today while posting and thought I'd share. This is Raleigh somewhere around 2 years old or so. We were at the mall and I had given her a snack mix that had cashews in it. I had no idea she was allergic at the time. She started crying so I walked around to the front of the double stroller and this is what I saw. Her lips were so swollen and she had hives all over. Thank goodness we found out then and didn't have another exposure to this. The more you are exposed to a nut allergy the more severe the reaction will be. Since this episode, she has been tested by an allergist and was confirmed allergic to ALL NUTS!!! dogs, cats, & weeds. The only difference between her and Sandon is that she hasn't developed asthma, and hopefully she never will. Piper so far is the only child we have that isn't allergic to anything....YET???

Piper's 1st Birthday!

My sweet little baby is officially one year old. I can't believe how the time has flown by. Piper did great for a little Birthday photo shoot, but by the time Dad got home from work and we all got settled in to have cake for her, she was way too tired. We took a polk-a-dot out of her mouth that she was gagging on from her cake and it was all over. She just screamed....she ended up eating peas of baby food out of a jar for her Birthday and loved it. She has never really been one for sweets anyway. She never liked fruits for baby food and only ate the veggies. Weird huh, doesn't sound like she fits into our family. We had to do gifts the next day because she was so tired. She didn't really get what was going on, but she loved the baby Einstein mirror she got for the car so she can watch movies with the kids since she is still rear facing.

Old School Candy

Please tell me you guys remember eating these as kids....biting off the wax tops and drinking them. We were at the dollar store buying balloons for Piper's party and came across a display of these and there were only a few left. I guess everyone had the same idea and grabbed them while they could. My kids absolutely loved them, even Piper. Brings back memories of my trips walking down to A&H drug with the neighborhood kids.

Hat Fashion show

I love having girls, just because of the fun girlie things we do together. We woke up Wednesday morning and got Sandon off to school and decided we would hang out in Mom's room and turn up the radio, dance, and get into Mom's closet and try on hats and take pictures. This is what we came up with.

Pink Hair??

OK, I decided I wanted a change and summer was coming.....so when I got my hair done last Tuesday night I went with MAGENTA! Crazy...but one of the funnest things ever! I love it and I don't care what anyone else thinks, it's so much fun!! I will admit that sitting in the chair not knowing what to expect was a little nerve racking. I have to point out the new feather extension that my friend Mandy got for me. Thanks Amanda for the Pink Hair, and thanks Mandy for the feather hair extension.

Practice run

Since we had gotten some yummy cupcakes from the scout auction, be decided to let Piper have a practice run at the cupcake for her upcoming Birthday. She did great messy wise and was pretty entertaining.
