A day at the park

We took the kids to the park Sunday afternoon since we finally had some nice weather here. The kids had a blast!!

Raleigh's 2nd Birthday - April 26th

Raleigh turned 2 years old last Saturday. She loves Elmo so we got her an Elmo cake and all her gifts were in pink Elmo paper! I can't believe my little Princess is already 2.

I don't think that Raleigh has ever fallen asleep in another man's arms besides her Daddy's, and thats only happened once or twice in her lifetime. She must really like her Uncle Andy to fall asleep in his arms.

Doug brought home a bucket the other day for washing the car. Raleigh decided that it was especially for her because she could fit in it.

Our 1st fish "Scales"

So I picked Sandon up from preschool on Tuesday and he was walking really really slow toward the car with something in his hands. It was a goldfish. They talked about the letters "G" and "F" this week and their teacher got each child a goldfish. This was our first pet and the kids were so excited. They named him "Scales". This was a picture of when we arrived home, but since then we got him a little goldfish bowl with rocks and plants. The kids love feeding him and talking to him. Surprisingly he is still alive. I had a talk with the kids and told them that goldfish don't live very long and are lucky if they live longer than a few days. Sandon says "then they go and live with Heavenly Father, right Mom"? They know more than we give them credit for.

Grandma Eleanor Martin/Harmon

This last week has been a busy one. My Grandmother Eleanor Martin (Harmon) died March 31, 2008, at the age of 92. Her viewing was held this last Monday April 7, 2008. It was so nice to see family that I haven't seen for years and to know that all of us are related and can be together in the next life for eternity because of this great woman. There was such a sweet spirit there and feelings of sorrow were overridden with joy over what a wonderful woman she was on this earth and what a wonderful reunion is going on where she is now. She was separtated from her husband for 22 years. I can't imagine how hard that must of been for her. I can't fathom being away from Doug that long and hope I never have to. She was such an inspiration to me, especially when it came to my testimony of the gospel and being a mother. She was amazing and I can only hope that some day I could amount to what she was in her pinky finger!!! I love her so much and will miss seeing her in this life, but how wonderful it will be when it is my turn and she will be there waiting for me.
